NEW COUNTRY, NEW LANGUAGE β
If you thought English was hard to learn, French is not even close π£. To begin with, only 60% of what is written is pronounced and the letters e and o have 4 or 5 different pronunciations.
It is true that in Canada (Quebec) the government pays you to learn French, however, finding a place in these courses is really difficult because each course starts every three months and fitting in with the school schedules is really difficult because most of the time the schedule is weekday mornings and at that time you are either studying or working π. And yes, there are evening and weekend schedules but the positions are very limited. So to sum it up for you, if you manage to find a spot in a government French class, you are very lucky.
In Montreal, it is super necessary to know French!! Basically, if you want to succeed in Montreal you must be billigual.
